1) Every foreign vessel entering Mexico through Isla Mujeres must obtain a fumigation certificate by a company authorized by COFEPRIS (Federal Commission for Protection against Sanitary Risks) within 72 hours from entry.

2) Foreign fumigation or sanitation certificates are not accepted.

3) Every foreign vessel docked or anchored in the jurisdiction of the Port Captain of Isla Mujeres must at all times carry a valid copy of the last fumigation certificate on board. The fumigation certificate has a validity of six months after which it needs to be renewed.

4) The above rules will strictly be enforced, random and structured inspections are planned.
